Dr. Joe is the founder, owner & Medical Director at Harvester Veterinary Hospital of Burr Ridge. After spending the last eight years at Archer Veterinary Clinic in Lemont, Dr. Joe noticed the demand within the veterinary industry & saw an opportunity to further help pet owners by opening Harvester Veterinary Hospital of Burr Ridge and continues to split her time between Harvester Veterinary Hospital of Burr Ridge & Archer Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Joe strives to always find a way to help pets as soon as possible and in the best ways possible and is also committed to creating a more diverse, inclusive & equitable veterinary community.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Joe received her B.S. in Biology from University of Wisconsin-Madison and her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joe's professional interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, behavior and is Fear Free Certified. Dr. Joe and her husband share their home with their daughter (Mabel), their Old English Sheepdog (Finnick) & their domestic short hair cat (Sir Bonkers). In her free time, Dr. Joe enjoys traveling, hiking/camping, cooking & enjoying great restaurants around Chicago.
Dr. Nick attended University of Illinois for both his Bachelor of Science (2012) and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (2016). He began working in the veterinary field in 2009, and was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine after his interest in science and medicine, along with his love for animals. Dr. Niemiec says one of the best parts of working in veterinary medicine is helping families and their pets while experiencing new challenges and successes every day.
MaryEllen is the practice manager of Harvester Veterinary Hospital of Burr Ridge. She has worked in the veterinary field for 17 years serving pets and their parents in the Chicagoland area. As the practice manager, MaryEllen's top priority is making sure that your pet is comfortable and receiving the very best care. She has a giant soft spot for the geriatric patients! She loves working at an animal hospital because she never has the same day twice. In her free time, she loves to barbecue, Spend time with her family, take care of her garden and relax in the sun by her fishpond. MaryEllen is a proud pet parent to her rescue pets- a Budgie named Bird, a sassy chihuahua Pixie, a bundle of pittie energy Chevy, a gentle 100# giant Rosie and her two senior kitties Lucky (22) and Tash (19).
